Kidstir kick-starts fun in the kitchen
Kitchen projects involving sugar turn kids' heads instantly. Those involving meat and veggies? Not so fast. That's one reason Aparna Pande launched Kidstir last spring — to kick-start a healthy, lifelong relationship between kids and food.
Each month Kidstir, based in California, sends a themed cooking kit to subscribers' homes. Every delivery includes three recipes, three foodie pages with cultural tidbits and tips, three games and activities, and two kid-friendly kitchen tools, such as the giraffe chopsticks in the ramen kit or the citrus spritzer in the March salad kit. (The spritzer plugs into a lemon or lime to tap its juice, sparing small hands the struggle of squeezing.)
