Do you need dietary modifications to one of the recipes in our May 2019 Hello Breakfast kit? Check out the suggestions below:

Strawberry Sundaes

  1. Dairy-Free
    • Instead of Greek yogurt, use a dairy-free yogurt alternative like almond or coconut
  1. Gluten-Free
    • Instead of regular granola, use a gluten-free or grain-free granola alternative
  1. Vegan
    • Vegan yogurt like Coconut or Almond Milk

Egg-cellent Cupcakes

  1. Dairy-Free 
    • Instead of cow’s milk and cream use your choice of soy, oat, rice, almond, or coconut milk and coconut cream
    • Use a dairy free cheese brand like Daiya
  1. Vegetarian
    • Replace ham with your choice of legume or protein
  1. Vegan
    • Use an egg alternative like JUSTegg*
    • Instead of cow’s milk and cream use your choice of soy, oat, rice, almond, or coconut milk and coconut cream
    • Use a dairy free cheese brand like Daiya
    • Replace ham with your choice of legume or protein

*You may need to reduce or omit the salt in your recipe when using egg substitute. Check sodium

 

Sunny  Scones

  1. Dairy-Free 
    • Instead of butter, use a non-dairy alternative like Earth Balance Original
    • Instead of cow’s milk, use your choice of soy, oat, rice, almond, or coconut milk
  1. Gluten-Free
    • Instead of wheat flour, use a 1-to-1 gluten-free substitute like Bob’s Redmill brand
  1. Vegan
    • Instead of butter, use a non-dairy alternative like Earth Balance Original. Coconut oil
    • Instead of egg, use an egg replacement for baking such as applesauce or banana. Ener-G Egg Replacer
    • Instead of cow’s milk, use your choice of soy, oat, rice, almond, or coconut milk
