Serves 2-4

Hands-on time:

10 minutes

Start-to-eat time:

30 minutes

  • 1 package bacon
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika & ½ teaspoon cayenne (optional)

Kids kitchen skills:

  • mixing
  • basting
  • baking

  • rimmed baking tray & foil
  • cooling rack (optional)
  • measuring cups & spoons
  • kitchen brush

Grown-up steps: Make sure your little ones use a rimmed baking tray, to catch and contain the juices from the bacon as it cooks.
  1. Preheat an oven to 400 degrees. Line a rimmed baking tray with foil and place the cooling rack on top. The cooling rack will make the bacon crispier, but is optional. Lay your bacon on the sheet.
  2. Add maple syrup, cinnamon, sugar, and pepper to a bowl and mix. Brush over the bacon.
  3. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until bacon is crispy. Be careful that the sugar doesn't burn. Serve with your fave breakfast!
